Rosh Hashanah/High Holy Bites
The pomegranates are probably my favorite cookie to decorate, while they take time to create, the end result is worth the effort! I also offer cookies depicting the shofar being blown and the traditional greeting, “Shana Tova Umetuka” (have a Happy and Sweet Year). If you wish I can write the greeting on an open envelope that is also bursting with florals. I can also write the Jewish year on a cookie; other popular designs include fish, pomegranates incorporated into floral designs, honeycombs, and honey jars. What about a pomegranate or bee place-setting for your holiday table? I have so many different images to play around with that I can basically incorporate into anything, I could decorate a house with pomegranates . . .
Hanukkah/Don’t Be Gelty
For Hanukkah, I create Stars of David, dreidels, Hanukkah-themed homes, and cookies decorated as gifts. Traditionally, Hanukkah candles are displayed in windows, making for a lovely cookie house design. Other popular cookies include the shield of Judah Maccabee, the cruise of oil, hand-painted images of the Temple, donuts oozing with strawberry jelly, candles, and the entire hanukkiyah (menorah).
Sukkot/Harvest Spiel
Celebrate Sukkot with cookies featuring fruits of all types, the four species (etrog, lulav, hadas, and aravah), and favorite passages from the Bible. These designs bring the festive spirit of the holiday to life.
Purim/Megillah Menchies
For Purim, I offer cookies decorated as masks, Megillah scrolls, and mishloach manot (gift baskets).
Tu BiShvat/Tree of Life Cookies
Celebrate the New Year for Trees with cookies decorated as plants and trees. These nature-inspired designs honor the holiday’s connection to the environment.
Shavuot/Torah Treats
For Shavuot, I create cookies featuring Bible verses, harvest themes, and a variety of fruits. These designs highlight the holiday’s agricultural roots and biblical significance.
Mezuzah Cookies
Additionally, my mezuzah cookies make for great housewarming gifts. These beautifully decorated cookies are a thoughtful and unique way to celebrate a new home. I also offer Hebrew-written names and personalized designs to make each set special
Bar-Bat Mitzvah/Mazel Tovies
You may choose any Jewish theme you wish, most people just ask for the name of the Bar or Bat-Mitzvah on a cookie and those make for a lovely addition on this occasion.
